The BLM Miura tools require no proprietary hardware and have a genuinely open architecture allowing operators to stay up to date with technology without repeatedly making large investments in single function hardware. BLM offers the technical flexibility and pricing structures to allow content owners and media technology operators to realise the value of assets without needing to make large capital investments in monolithic closed systems.
Miura Ingest - the linear content ingester is a complete client / server based video and audio ingester which offers the highest standard in linear-to-file based content acquisition for both SD and HD source material. Complementing Miura Ingest is Miura Tape Logger which is a tape logging tool which allows users to log tape content and create an ingest manifest (rather like an EDL) using the same, simple user interface as the Ingester. Ingest manifests may then be passed to Miura Ingest for batch, unattended digitization.
Following ingest, or in cases where content is stored in the file domain, Miura File Logger, Miura Edit and Miura transcode allow for simplified operations for file based workflow. Logging material against time-code and annotating with metadata, simple editing / rendering as well as file-to-file transcode are catered for.
Completing the operation back to base band are Miura Replay, for file to linear playout - ideal studio replay in a news operation - and Miura Layback, a fully featured tape layback tool for frame accurate file to tape operation or assemble edit emulation.
Simplicity in Operation
Across the product suite usability has been paramount in the product design. The intuitive and unified user interfaces allow operators to control the Miura tools from anywhere on the network - crucially away from that noisy machine room. With little training users may be logging or batch ingesting tape based content to file within a few minutes of using the instinctive client. The Miura tools broaden the accessibility of media technology and enable many operations to become an office, rather than production gallery function.

The Miura suite of tools are robust Windows Service applications, for the server side components, completed by .NET thin client and browser based control applications. Miura offers the highest standards in file write and playback for broadcast, IPTV and WebTV applications where image quality is the highest priority.
Future Proof Architecture
The Miura products have a completely open and pluggable software architecture enabling video processing filters such as noise reducers, video CODECs and file containers / wrappers to be added with ease. Miura offers an innovative and attractive alternative to traditional monolithic broadcast and media systems architectures for media operators and systems integrators. For OEM the tools have a well documented API and SDK example applications are available to accelerate the integration work.
